The software we use to deliver excellent results is available for your independent usage. Our developers are available for the creation of specific versions for particular client needs.
Our software gives the power to simulate and understand the complex processes taking place during the manufacturing process; Discover the residual stresses, pressures on the mould, temperatures in the material and any exotherms or undesirable effects taking place. All this before you have cut a tool. Armed with this knowledge, the process can be developed to give higher quality products whilst minimising manufacturing cost. We can predict the distorted shape of the component and also the forces necessary to correct it in a jig to the desired shape. Giving you the ability to modify the process parameters, the lay-up or compensating the mould shape to result in a part that is to the desired shape right out of the mould.
As with any CAE method, the quality of the results is only as good as the quality of the input data. We pride ourselves on the efforts we have made to integrate the material characterisation to delivering reliable robust data into the simulation models.
LMAT develops state-of-the-art software for composites process simulation including cure simulation, infusion, press moulding, pultrusion and many more. We license our established software through a number of mainstream CAE software providers but also undertake development to customise software for your specific process and needs.
Our software is available on a number of host platforms; with full support from the software vendor.
The ACCS software have various modules to predict the cure cycle and the infusion or material flow for bulk moulding materials such as C-SMC and LFT. The effect of flow reorienting the fibres is taken into account for both the TS and TP materials.
Our knowledge of processing polymers and composite materials has lead us to producing customised versions of our ACCS software but in addition we have provided custom material cards for non-linear composite damage in ABAQUS and LS-DYNA and also software to predict the curing of paint on both composites and metals to predict residual surface cracking and the thereby optimising material selection and process parameters to achieve the best quality finish.
The software project will be directly tailored to the needs of the client facilities and process needs and delivered by the LMAT team responsible for the development of the in-house ACCS codes.
